9:30AM - welcome/introductions

9:35AM - Tech Plan Discussion - Info available on MDE website? Where? Questions? National Tech Plan document is also out

 

9:55AM - Updates - SSC, SEMNET, RAMSP, Legislative, SSC

  Anyone hearing anything Legislatively on the Equity Aid issue in this season of budget cuts? Other news?

 

10:20AM - Flexible Learning Year (FLY) Discussion - How are people going to handle this (six to eight weeks to prep for a new school year). Other issues being forseen for the Tech Departments if FLY takes place for your district?

 

10:45AM - Online Learning Discussion - What are school doing? In-house? How is it being done? What options are out there? Where is the HVL's Initiative taking us?

 

11:15AM - BrainHoney (related somewhat to Online Learning) - Who is using it, who plans to use it?

 

11:30AM - Presentation on Mobile Devices in Schools by Apple Representative Paul Musegaves (will plan on having Q&A about issues with iPads and iPod Touches regarding implementation, sync, how app store purchasing works for a school environment, and the like). Working Lunch, and Paul is providing us pizza! Bring your own beverage, otherwise coffee is available (while supplies last) and a soft drink vending machine is also available in the lobby area.

 

12:30AM - Continued Discussion on the Online Learning Question as needed

 

12:45AM - MCA testing Discussion - Should the group contact the legislature, MDE, Pearson to inquire about the recent resolution requirements for the testing environments and how that is presently taking netbooks out of the equation as possible testing devices? Other testing concerns?

 

1:15PM - Data Warehousing solutions - What are people using? Who has them, who is still looking? (if Corey from Austin would like to share any info here, he certainly could)

 

1:30PM - ITV Discussion - What is happening with the RUS Grant schools? How are schools with ITV capability, but not part of the Grant(s) being handled? Has a scheduling system been set up, and if not is there plans for doing that? What is the expected time for implementation? What are the thoughts from the schools that were part of successful RUS Grants?

 

2:00 - Presentations and Other discussions - Anything that anyone would like to share? Kasson-Mantorville was planning an implementation for the Mouse Magic that was demo'd last meeting. How did that go? What were the costs? Smooth implementation or not so smooth? We may have some K-M Tech folks with us on the 4th that could share some info.
