A state conference geared toward School Tech Coordinators and directors. Held annually. This year it's in St. Cloud at the Radisson Suite Hotel (downtown on St. Germain Street). Cost is $230 for the two day conference (Feb 11-12, 2010)

Peer Reviewers Needed for District Innovation Grants, Apply by March 1

The US Department of Education's $650m Investing in Innovation (i3) competition, which is open to all US school districts, needs peer reviewers to help judge the grant applications. Pre-K-12 teachers, principals, college and university instructors and researchers are among those urged to apply.

ISTE Responds to Obama Administration's FY11 Education Budget

"We have deep misgivings about the Administration's decision to 'consolidate' the Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) program in the FY 11 budget," said ISTE CEO Don Knezek in a statement released February 3, 2010. "This decision removes direct funding for education technology at a critical time. We do, however, commend the Obama Administration's stated commitment to infuse technology throughout PK-12 education and we look forward to working with the Administration and Congress to make this vision a reality."

Celebration of Teaching and Learning with WNET in NYC, March 5-6

Join the fifth annual Celebration of Teaching and Learning in New York City, March 5-6. Produced by public television station WNET's education arm, this professional development opportunity will feature plenary speakers Arne Duncan, Queen Noor and Queen Latifah as well as a contest recognizing multimedia projects in the classroom.
